I live in the UK and joining MSP is absolutely worth it, and also loads of fun!
I use the weekly shopping guides as just that: guides. I go and look for similar clothes in the shops here, and by and large, the trends seem to be quite similar, with some cutting-edge stuff only perhaps slightly different. But then MSP is about style, not trends, so I've never found this to be any worry. Half the time I don't even know what the trends are here...
Americans seem to dress less formally than people do in the UK (at least in my town); e.g. not many middle-aged women seem to be wearing walking shorts here, but then MSP is all about 'taking it up a notch' anyway, so it's all easily adaptable!
Sometimes it is frustrating, it is true, to see some really classic and lovely and practical items in the shopping guides and then to click your way through and to find that the company does not do international deliveries (hardly any of the US firms seem to do them). But the guides really do provide great inspiration, and I've learned the shops in my town that stock similar things and what to look out for.
Also, the colour-ID and the newsletters on styling, capsule dressing, hairstyles and so forth are all totally independent of the USA!

Dear MSP,
I am a "C" body type and have NEVER felt good about myself - always comparing my body shape to that of my small and petite sisters. But after receiving just ONE of your weekly messages and shopping suggestions, I was finally able to catch on to the advice you were giving about what styles of clothes would look best on my shape.
Using your help, I went into my closet and put together ONE outfit with clothes I already had. I NEVER would have put these items together before reading your web site and the personal profile, but I did it and wore it the very next day. I received probably the very best compliment of my life, from my 13 year old son - who told me "Mom, you look kind of elegant today!" I was THRILLED! And all I was wearing was a nice pair of jeans, a button shirt that had princess seams and small shoulder pads in it, and some flat loafer type shoes - instead of the typical jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes. What a difference! And I still felt like I was wearing casual clothes that I could get down on the floor and play with my two year old in!
Thank you SO MUCH - for helping me to finally love and appreciate my body shape, and showing me how to accent my positive points!
Love, Susan
Dear MSP,
After debating for a while, I finally subscribed for a whole year, and I am so glad I did!
I've done a closet purge and started wearing the few flattering clothes left, but first advice I took was to get a decent haircut. At the same time I got my brows shaped, and then I pulled out my long-abandoned make-up and contacts (my glasses are dated and uncomfortable).
Each morning I spend a few extra minutes on myself and the results have been amazing! One day after dropping the kids off at school one morning, one mother (who's always seemed glamorous to me) asked if I had had 'work done'!
I've had a face lift and a self-esteem booster for the price of a MSP subscription and a trip to my hairdresser. And no bandages!
Thank you so much MissusSmartyPants! Barbara
Wow MSP!
I can't believe the difference in the clothes in my own closet since receiving my personal profile newsletters. It has been so amazing to go to my own closet and find "new" clothes.
Since I've received your weekly advice, I've altered the way that I put outfits together and what a difference it has made! Twice this week I was asked if I had lost weight and that I looked nice! I was wearing the same clothes that have been hanging in my closet but instead of trying to hide behind them I gave Missus Smarty Pants a try and followed her advice (I'm a "B".)
I even feel like I've lost 10 pounds just my making some simple changes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'm looking forward to many more newsletters, tips and guides.
Angela
Hello MissusSmartyPants-
I received notes from FlyLady several times regarding your site, but I always resisted. Even though I recently started a job in educational testing, I was afraid your clothing recommendations would be only for older, overweight office workers. I wanted examples of fun, flattering clothes that were suitable for lots of casual occasions, yet look good at work. Also, I was afraid that at 5'5", 125 lbs, I wasn't a typical "C" looking person, but believe me, that's what I am.
Imagine my delight when the first profile has my favorite brand of clothing with SPECIFIC types of clothes that are neither too formal or too old or too boring!!
Hooray - now when I order clothing, I will do so with confidence. All the recommendations are right on the money. Thank you so much. I can't wait to get shopping!
